I recently had the front end damage to my '01 SLT QC repaired but I
wanted the smooth front fascia that comes on the sport instead of the
textured gray on the SLT painted to match my driftwood 2-tone.
A small ordering SNAFU caused me to get a '00 fascia which has a
different foglight mounting system than the '01s. I didn't notice
this until after it was painted so I have the following options:
1. Order a set of new '00 foglights and try to sell off my '01s to
cover some of the expense. Most factory correct solution but least
cost effective, especially if I find no buyer for the '01s.
2. Have a custom bracket fabricated so that I can mount the '01
foglights behind the fascia. Most difficult because of alignment
issues and I have no access to a metal shop.
3. Purchase PIAA 510s and make them fit into the factory openings.
Most expensive option as the lights cost $180 and I still will
probably need to fab something up to make them fit in the factory
openings.
Any opinions and suggestions of things I haven't listed are most
welcome.
