Hey William!

My 4.7L (5spd, 3.92, tonneau cover, 75mph, 80% highway) has given me an
average of 19mpg. My best tank hit the 20.0mpg mark! My worst was only 16.8
-- new without tonneau cover.

The 4.7L will handle any gearing you put in the rear. If you do any pulling
at all, I would not go below the 3.92. If you don't, perhaps the 3.55 will
work.
