Which hopefully explains the video we've been seeing of Pakistanis
dancing in the streets celebrating... they were simply celebrating their
holiday, probably not yet aware of the tragedy occuring halfway
around the globe. CNN doesn't have quite the viewership in less
wealthy countries that they do here.

At least I hope this is an explanation, because the alternative was
really pissing me off.
