Yep, that's true, but how do you explain packing a gas mask or oxygen
to airport security? As far as forcing the pilots to leave the cockpit,
it would seem that the only way to avoid this problem is to fall back on
the "we will not negotiate with terrorists" credo. If the pilots don't
leave the cockpit, true, terrorists could kill everyone on board, and
perhaps disable the plane to the extent where it will crash, but that's
"all". There are much easier ways to kill many more people if that's all
they are out to accomplish. Every success for these scum is a motivator
to do it again. It would seem that when hijacks stop "working", they will
stop hijacking planes. Human life obviously means nothing to these vermin,
but the very nature of these types of attacks shows that they obviously
know we hold it in high regard. If it takes the sacrifice of a few plane
loads of people to get the point across that we're not going to cooperate
any more, that would be tragic of course, but still much preferable than
the continued hijackings and hostage taking, which would save lives in the
long run. I would also hope that in the future, the passengers take a
much less passive role, and not merely be sheep to be led to a slaughter.
This is a war, and the only way to prevail is resistance on all fronts.
If these cowards are going to make war on innocent citizens, then all
citizens must themselves become soldiers in this battle. All IMHO, of
course. (Sorry for the ranting; this is all just starting to sink in
for me...) :-(
