An easy way to stop brake squeaking is to put a chamfer on the leading, and
trailing edge of the brake shoes. This will work for disk brakes as well.
With drum brakes you don't even have to disassemble the shoes. Just remove
the drum and use a file to put on the chamfer. Don't inhale the filing.
The squeak is caused by the leading edge pealing back. Hope this helps. It
really works.
