My 3.55 gears started noise at 30,000 miles. My service manager listened to
it,and said that noise was common with the 3.55's after some miles have been
racked up.I know have 37,000 miles...
The noise starts coming on at 30mph,and seems the noisiest at 40mph.After
40mph,it starts to lessen, and between 50-68mph,u really cant hear it that
much. When i came back from Detroit last month, there were times that my
Dakota was running 80-85mph.Couldn't hear anything at all.
If it really gets worse between now,and when my extended coverage expires at
75,000 miles,i'll get them replaced. My service manager buddy, will give me
the option: go with new 3.55's,or the 3.92 set up.
BTW: I test drove the new 2002 Rams at the Truckville event today. It will be
posted next
