Kudos to Mike K. who cut me a killer deal on the Dunlop GT Qualifier's on 6
lug rims that are currently under my Dakota. I can't believe the difference
in performance between a 110 lb 31" tire and a 65 lb 26.5" tire. The truck
really came alive with the effective gear ratio change, it's a lot of fun to
drive, G-tech shoes almost a full second improvement in 1/4 mi performance (
9 tenths ). One downfall of the swap from the noisy mud tires is that now I
realize that my 8 1/4 is howling, which I could never hear over the old
tires, so it looks like I'd better get my ass in gear with my 8 3/4 swap
since I really don't want to put any $ into my 8 1/4, I'm going to change the
upper pinion brg and see if it shuts up, if not I'll drive it till it pops or
until I switch to the 8 3/4.
