Well I can tell you one thing, the NV3500 I have is NOT strong enough for
this engine. Granted it's got a lot of miles but when it goes(and it will
soon) I'm going with the #PTA518SS sold by Phoenix Transmission
http://www.phoenixtrans.com/ and convert to an auto. I would definitely go
with the 360, much more power then the 318 with the same mods(and not a lot
more money), and I can tell you my new 360 will STOMP my old 318 at every
possible RPM, and pulls strong up to 6000 RPM's. The rear end will also be a
problem, again I'm switching to 8 3/4 out of a e-body, it's a 1/2" narrower
then the 8 1/4 and the center section is offset 5/8" on the Dak rear's, so
I'll have to disassemble mine and have it narrowed on one side before I
install it.
