On single plane manifolds, a (very) old trick was to put a cone in them
(aka: "turtle"). This helped to keep the bottom end TQ and didn't
interfere with the top-end performance.

Randy Pile (http://www.worldwideperformanceparts.com) carries these and
also installs them in the custom built M1 4BBL Manifolds. You can order
the "turtle" separately.
