Cool! Now I feel like quite the fool for not remembering that an 8 3/4"
housing is steel. Just wanted to be sure and cover everything. Hope
everything goes well-TTYL,

I am actually a certified welder in Michigan since 1999 up to 1" plate all
position. The shock mounts are just stamped 3/16" mild steel, the spring
plates are stamped 1/4" plate mild steel, and the axle tube itself is just
Mild steel, the only cast iron on a 8 3/4" axle is the drop out 3rd member
and the brake drums. I do however appreciate the concern! :o)
