I want a Dakota to replace my current Dodge 'truck'.
Let me start by giving my Dodge history.
I got my first Dodge as a high school graduation present. It was my Dad's work car. An '81 Dodge Omni 024 Miser 1.7l, manual trans, no power steering, no power brakes... The only option was the AM/FM 8-track player. Anyway I got it with over 100,000 miles and proceeded to another 80,000 plus on it before the trailing arm rusted away and left me and a friend in a strange predicament.
Our second Dodge was my Mom's Omni. Same as mine but with an auto trans. My dad used this on his mail route and got rid of it after reverse went out. We contemplated rebuilding it, but the body was pretty rough. We got 250,000 miles out of that one with no engine progs or trans probs until the end.
My current Dodge 'truck' is an '87 Charger that I have had since college. It is pretty rough and I feel I will soon have to put the good 'ol dog to rest. It has 243,000 miles on it. I bought it with 109,000 miles.
So, sorry for the long message, but I will soon need another Dodge. I want an extended cab V6 Dakota and wanted to everyones opinions on what year, options to look for..... Or what I should stay away from?
Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
