RE: 5224 VS 3923 plugs

Minor correction:

The 5224's are for the V6. On the electrode, the 5224 is a "Special
Power Tip" plug and the 3924/3923/3922 is a "Standard Tip". The
extended tip (5224) are prone to pinging.

Just because the tip design is different, doesn't mean the plug won't
work or is the wrong one.

Subject: DML: 5224 VS 3923 plugs

Ok I visited my friends at the parts store today and compared the 3923
to the 5224 autolites. the 3923 are for the V-6 not the 4.7. the list
shows 3924 actually for the V-6. so you men are running a colder plug.
But the important point i found comparing them is that the 3923 threaded
portion is slightly shorter in length than the 5224, Meaning if i was to
install the 3923 in my 4.7 the plug is actually up inside the plug hole,
THUS causing the electrode to not be further down where it should be.
Would this not cause a problem in the way fuel air is ignited.? I dont
want arguments here, I just want to say I disagree in using a plug in a
motor in which it is not engineered for. The correct plug for the 4.7 is
the AP5224. A=AUTOLITE, P=PLATINUM.
