It's been an eventful week to say the least. I left the house today
after taking a few DML calendar hopeful shots for a 20mile ride to my
mom's. I got about 1.5miles and putt, putt.. ran out of gas on the
freeway. I had enough momentum to get halfway up an off-ramp. I might
have made it over the hill and down to the gas station if I was doing my
usual 75mph, but all these "shame-on-you-for-speeding" post convinced me
to do the 65 limit.
So one mile round trip walking I got 1.5gal of gas in my tank, then
drove to my friendly Texaco 5miles away and filled up. The strange
thing is it only took 19.3gallons. Now I know my math and that don't
add up to the 22gallon tank that's advertised. I always assumed there
was a huge 7 gallon reserve once my gas light came on, but I guess I'll
be more conservative in the future.
