I don't think that's what he was referring to, Jay. You see, the fuel is the
only lubrication that the pump has, so if you run it dry, the lubrication is
gone and it really eats itself up quick. Oh, and there's probably enough
funk in the tank after only a few thousand miles to damage stuff if it all
gets sucked up to the pump (as it would in a run-it-dry situation).
