Electric Wrenches Recalled for Electrocution Danger

Wisconsin-based Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. is voluntarily recalling
about 6,000 electric wrenches because their power cords can release from the
handle, posing a danger of electrocution to users. The recalled wrenches are
shaped like drills, but use a forward/reverse action to tighten/loosen
bolts. They have a red handle, a red and gray body, and the word "Milwaukee"
printed on them. Consumers can tell if their drills are included in the
recall by examining the model and serial number found on the drill's
nameplate. Recalled drills include:

Model Numbers Serial Numbers
9070-20 229A401010001 through 229A401250722
9071-20 239A401010001 through 239A401250404
9075-20 230A401010001 through 230A401260104

They were sold by home centers, hardware stores and industrial
distributors across the nation from March 2001 to July 2001. Consumers
should stop using the electric wrenches immediately and return them to the
nearest Milwaukee Factory Service Center or authorized power tool service
center for a free repair. Consumers also can call the manufacturer toll-free
at (866) 473-2288, or visit its Web site at
http://www.mil-electric-tool.com. Wrenches that have an "X" stamped or
etched on the nameplate next to the serial number have already been
repaired.

Thank you and have a safe day.
