Transmission fluid change

Went to a Texaco Express Lube to have fluids done. Everything went well
until they tried to do the tranny fluid. For some reason they could not get
the lines disconnected to hook up the machine. They spent about 30-40
minutes trying and the lines just would not release. They admittedlly quit
before the broke anything, which was very kind of them. Anyone have any
ideas of getting thes linse to come apart. They look like the kind that
either squeeze to remove or two small bladed screw drivers inserted on
either side for removal. The vehicle is a 97 Dakota SLT with the V6. TIA
