That's only true in tire sizes, never in axle ratios. Like you said in a
previous post, the speed sensor is on the axle.

I'm saying that switching to a FACTORY available ratio/tire size will not
necessitate buying any items to correct the speedo. That its as simple as
having the computer set to the new values. But changing to a NON-FACTORY
ratio may (Probably) require one to do so.

On a 1998 or newer (and since we're taking about a 4.7, it's a '00 or
newer), a change in rear-end ratio does not require areprogram, as the
speed sensor is on the axle and not the driveshaft. Only tire size changes
need a reprogram.
