It was a Flex-a-lite Black Magic 15" fan. It is inadequate for stop and go
traffic during our Texas summers. It kept the engine cool for nearly an hour
at idle with the A/C on, but the moment you hit the stop and go stuff, it
would break through 225 and just keep going. I tried flushing the coolant,
adding Radiator Relief, a tranny coolant additive as well as an engine oil
coolant additive. Nothing worked. I finally had to take the fan out and
return it.

Flex-a-lite had nothing to offer to help though this was the fan they
recommend for our trucks.

The 3.9 guys don't have this problem, but those with the 5.2 or 5.9 and live
in places like Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, have found
they either need to stay with the engine driven fan, or install duals. If
never have to deal with stop and go traffic, you should be safe.

I miss the electric fan. The truck definitely had more power at the rear
wheels and the mileage boost was very nice as well.

>John, what is this electric fan you're talking about? How much does it
cost, how difficult is it to install, and where >can one purchase one :)

>A 10% boost in mileage would be cool!
