Hey folks,
Got a problem with my truck and I figure it's one someone
here has encountered before ..
It's getting %@#$ing cold out, and the heater in my truck
appears to be broken. Here are the symptoms: the vent
select buttons work. I can choose to have air blowing on
the windshield or towards me, no problem. The temperature
select slider works fine too - it changes the temperature
of the air just dandy. And it blows when I'm moving.
It's when I'm not moving that the problem arises. It doesn't
blow. The only air I get when I'm moving seems to be the
air being forced through the system by the forward velocity
of the truck.
I'm guessing either that the blower motor is bad, or that
there's an electrical foulup that's keeping it from coming
on.
Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Fixes? Estimation
of cost/trouble to fix it? Truck in question is a '93 2.5L.
Could this be the "infamous" blower motor resistor melting?
Thanks for your time,
Alek Benedict
