I know I told you guys about the Shelby I got a couple of
weeks ago,and that I was looking for decals at a reasonable
price, but have no idea if I mentioned the other stuff I am
looking for.
-OEM Fog Lamp Inserts [Lens & reflector.Looking for a set of
these that has excellent glass with no pits and no hazing or
fogging on the inside of the lens.]
-Shelby Steering Wheel [Found a place that can restore it
for about $220,but would rather look around a bit.]
-OEM Bordeaux Dash Pad [I have been told that this color
dash was only available on Sport, Shelby and Convertible
Dakotas for a few years.]
-Shelby Wheel Center Caps [My wheels have them,I just want
some with the rings around them in better shape.]
-Painted Bumper [Mine has a slight tweak to it.Any of you
guys that have Gen I Daks that have installed roll pans
gimme a shout.]
On a good note, I was able to locate a great deal on a set
of OEM decals, including the windshield decal. I got lots of
good leads from people both on the DML and RTML, so thanks
to all. I Found a set at Muscle Car Graphics in Phoenix.They
said they had them on the shelf for a while and wanted to
let them go to get them moving. They wanted $399, but I
ended up getting them for $335.By comparison, reproductions
range from $550 to over $1000 for a set, and these don't
include the windshield banner.If anyone else is looking for
a set, I found a guy at a place in Jacksonville that is
making sets minus the banner for $550, which is a really
good deal, and he even throws in a few extras for the ones
that tend to wear out prematurely.
As soon as I get around to it, I am going to go talk to a
guy that does a lot of good paint work for the show cars we
have had at Hella who cuts us good deals and see about
having a show-quality paint job put on her.I like modding
the R/T (when I have freakin' money,LOL!), but I think the
Shelby is gonna be as close to stock as I can make it and
enter the both of them in shows eventually.
