backup lights not working (part 2)

Ok, I figured out to simply crawl under the truck and remove the backup
light bulb without removing the tail light assembly. Turns out that the
bulbs are fine :(

So, the fuse is ok (should be a 15 amp light blue as per the manual), and
the bulbs are fine.
The problem is that when I shift into reverse, my backup lights still don't
work. The manual says the fuse also controls the daytime running lights
which I don't have either. A little background on the truck:

Bought used w/ 81k on the odometer
4x4, 5.2 L, auto (not that these would factor in to the equation).
It has some sort of trailer light hook up that may or may not be factory.

Anyway, suggestions on how to fix/what to do in this situation would be
greatly appreciated.

Brandon
