Mods are more readily available for the 5.9
More able to be done with the 5.9 (currently)
Easier to work on the 5.9
5.9's smoother TQ/HP curve

Looking at just the HP/TQ numbers isn't terribly telling, you have to look
at where in the RPMs that number is hit.

I drove the 1500 with the 4.7 and it is smoooooth and packs quite a kick.
I considered trading my '99 for an '03 partly because I was so impressed
with the 4.7.
