Bill,
I have had my axle gone through twice in the last couple of years.
3.92 TracLoc. Had new bearings installed, Ring & Pinion lash set,
changed the oil. etc. etc.
Each time the recommended "breakin" was:
No full throttle starts.
No crusing (freeway) above 45MPH
Vary speed often.
This is for the first 100 Miles.
After that, hammer away....
