I'm too tired to re-write the story, so I'll post what I posted to the local
message board...
I think I blew a piston or something major...
I was on my way back from the pet store with a buddy from ODU on Brambleton
when I was gettin on the gas a lil... I punched it right quick and it
dropped a gear, but thats when it happened...
the motor started clanking real loud, smoke was pouring outta the exhaust...
barely running...
I was gonna try to make it back to ODU, but got cought by a red light, and i
tryed to keep her running, holding the gas to the floor, the motor just
slowly died.... the guy infront of me jumped outta his car, and asked me if
the truck was on fire... heh.. I said no, I think I blew my motor up... so
he said good luck, and went on (nice guy, didnt have to stop)
So, I sat on branbleton and called my dad he said to call AAA and they'd get
a tow truck out... So I called and they sent a tow truck, and a police man
pulled up and sat there fer a bit with me and Harrold, and another cruser
came up with a push bar and pushed me onto Colley to get me outta traffic...
and gave me a flair and said good luck and left....
Just fer shits and giggles I tryed to start it to see what it would do, it
shook really bad and died slowly again... then the towtruck showed up and
took us home...
When I stopped when I died the first time, I noticed oil smoke like coming
very strongly from the breather (gushing smoke out) but there was no oil
drippin anywhere or any other fluids...
Does this sound like I may have blown a piston or rings or something? Anyone
gotta idea where I should start looking?
Anyways... tonight was interesting... and COLD!!
Hopefully she'll be taken care of and be running right within a few months
<sigh>
I just waxed it for the first time since Summer today too.... Oh well... I
guess I'll spend more of my free time home workin on the truck.....
