Steven, Punch,
    I think that what I'm trying to say is that all the wrecking yards will
end up sending "their" older models to the crusher rather than hold them for
parts sales which may or may not ever happen. The running gear and engine
parts are not the problem, it's the old body parts that will be lost forever.
    I agree with you about an individual's automobile. You're right as they
have no authority over your automobile. The point I was making is that a lot
of old car parts will end up in the crusher from the yards, not from the
private individual unless he or she just wants to get rid of it for the
money. Bill
