What's behind my rear bumper?

Okay

This weekend I installed my Gibson Cat Back exhaust. I love it, give a
good sound when I get on the gas and nice and quiet when I'm running on
the highway.

I also installed a hitch this weekend. While I was under the truck
bolting it up, I noticed a tube that was between the two frame rails at
the back. It has a little play to it like its on some kind of bushing.
Any one know what this is or what its for?
