In California, I think it is illegal to have any aftermarket cat on your
car. Has to come from the dealer. I have friends who own an exhaust shop and
they said BAR is coming down hard on shops that install aftermarket cats on
late model cars.

Subject: DML: Carsound Cat

I have a 97 3.9l rc 4x4 truck... and I've taken it to a couple exhaust guys
and they say that it has an illegal cat on it, which doesnt really supprise
me, however I didnt put it on there. I was wondering if there is such a
thing as a super wide open cat thats street/smog legal in california...

I am pretty sure my cat is on the outs... and I am also pretty sure I will
have to do a smog test soon... I just dont want to lose all that wonderfull
noise =) Is the carsound cat, california legal, and if so and I decide to
buy... will I have a problem finding somone that will put it on for me?

Wes
