Spark plug wrench universal?

For those of you that have the 318, where is the best place in your opinion
to position this universal swivel thingy when replacing your hard to reach
plugs, on the plug socket, on the ratchet itself, or in between the 2
extensions (when needed) ? I just don't want no more broken plugs and
knuckles.
