The RACE CAR mentality remark mainly means about the attitude some of the
guy's have around here, every
spring when this time of year rolls around the driver's
adopt a sort of NASCAR attitude , they start looking
for sponsors, wanting parts for free, and wanting thier cars lettered, and
when you try to explain that we are a
corporate owned store we can make no decisions to sponsor a car in house (we
have to account for all
paid out transactions) then you get that "well I spend alot of money here"
and I deserve something back.
The media around here gives the local circle tracks alot of exposure as well
as the driver's and you wind up with a small number of guy's with very big
ego's as a result.
NOW do not get me wrong we sell alot of parts to these guy's, and we dearly
love it when they patronize our store,
but there is a small number of individules that I could stand not to
see....that is what I meant. alot of well deserved success brings on a
very,very big ego.
WE also have a very large number of guy's that DO NOT
have this and to these guy's, I along with the rest of the store team make
sure they have what they need to stay
competitive weekend and weekout.
I make sure we have a excellent supply of belts, hoses,
rad relief, all the required fluids are kept in stock, along with any
special requested items like K@N air filters
and such.
I know that alot of DML'ers are racers as well, it takes
alot of sacrifice and dedication to race. ( I used to compete on the local
and regional level in PRO STREET
car show and bracket race fields) and to you, you have
my deepest respect!!!! I meant no insult by the mentality crack to you!!!!
