Spray it with "Cold Galvanize". Made by quite a few companies in spray
cans. It'll leave a zinc finish that'll prevent rust. We use it down here on
boat trailers to keep bolts from rusting after they have been installed and
the Galvanize has been peeled off the threads. Works great. Bill
