Dig thru the Mopar Muscle archives. They did an artical on this swap over
years ago. MP catalog lists a 518 for this swap. Youi might want to try
the MP tech line as well.

Not really possible without some ingenuity. The old (reliable) 727/904
is non-electronically controlled. Swapping it in place of the 500/518
would require some electronics "modification".

But yes...build up an old 727/904 and they handle well over 700HP. :)
(Hemi version of the 727 is proof of that.)

I'm 52 and this sounds like heresay!!!!!!!!Don't believe ANYONE has made
anything better than a 727..Even Chrysler engineers could never figure
why a trans made for 200-250HP stood up to much,much more...Oh,have a
'68 Super Bee in the garage waiting to be resurrected,so I'm a little
