I don't think that's the size. It's probably a 10mm hex, but there are some
factors which may affect the 10. These things are generally stamped out of
dies by the hundreds of thousands & there are wear limits & acceptable
tolerance ranges for both the dies & the resultant bolt heads.This also will
apply to the distance across the flats of the hex. More than likely, it's
the grade of the bolt...metric (ISO) systems don't rate bolts & nuts the
same way the english system does (i.e....grade 8). The metric system always
has a two-digit number stamped (or embossed) on the bolt head, separated by
a decimal point. Ya almost hafta be a rocket scientist (or at least a mech
engr) to undrstand where the numbers are derived from...
