Look for the CARB numbers. Some shops will not replace it unless two
criteria are met: 1) CAT is burnt out and after warranty period/mileage,
and 2) after 100,000 miles. I usually take it to a speed shop that
specializes in this area.

Well my problem is I've been to a couple muffler shops that will install
highflow cats, and some that wont stating OEM cats are the only ones

If you hear rattling within the CAT then it is bad or check for cracks
with the CAT's top shield plate.
The HI-FLOW CATS are usually a 3" in and 3" out. These are good for
hi-temp headers that will not burn out but provide enough limit to pass
emission. You can purchase the CAT online at eBay or
www.Truckperforrmance.com.
