My last car in high school was an '83 Plymouth Grand Fury with the 318,
police package. It had 289,000 miles on it when the tranny blew up, I was
leaving for boot camp in three months and didn't want to fix it, but the
engine was still running perfectly, all dino oil. I'm not sure what engine
work the previous owner may have done to it, but in the six years it was in
our family (and most of the miles) all we did was change the fluids and put
gas in her.
