Noticed it for the first time today, on my 97, 4x4, as I'm coming up to a
stop sign I will put the truck in neutral
(5 spd) and let it coast slowly and I'm hearing a slight squeaking or
whistling sound (no brakes applied).
It almost sounds like when you are whistling for a dog but instead of 4
times or so it keeps on until the truck stops. Don't laugh at my
description here but that's exactly what it sounds like :-) Rotors, pads,
or on a 4 wheel drive can or should the front wheel bearings be repacked? I
don't think it's the brakes because it does this when I'm coasting and not
even touching the brakes, and it doesn't do this all the time.
Thanks in advance for anyones opinion or advice,
Jay
