It's about time they did 4-wheel discs. Now I wonder if I can take their
rear disk set-up and transplant it to my Y2K Dak.

Subject: DML: Changes for 2003 model
This is from car-truck.com... Most noteably is the 3rd paragraph.. Now I
wish I waited till 2003....
------
The 2003 Dakota will have a few new features. Topping the list is a new
appearance package called the "Dodge Stampede Group." Available only on
Sport 4x2's (both regular and club cab), it will feature a ground effects
package and special Stampede badging.
The 5-speed 545RFE automatic transmission replaces the 45RFE transmission
currently offered with the 4.7L Magnum V8. Four wheel disc brakes with rear
ABS will be standard on all models except th 4x2 regular cab Sport and SLT.
Four wheel disk brakes with four wheel ABS will be an option on all Dakotas.
Sixteen inch wheels are now standard equipment for all Dakotas. 245/70-16
BSW tires replace the 215/75-15 OWL currently offered on the regular and
club cab Sport and SLT 4x2's. 245/70-16 BSW tires replace 235/75-15 OWL
currently offered on the regular and club cab Sport and SLT 4x4 and the Quad
Cab 4x2 and 4x4. Then "Tire and Handling Group" now features a revised axle
ratio, wheel flares, a rear stabilizer bar and wider tires (255/65-16 on 4x2
& 265/70-16 on 4x4).
Timberline Green replaces Aquamarine and Steel Blue on the list of available
colors. The GVW rating has also been increased for all models. The entry
level SXT package has been slightly reworked for 2003. The wheel flares and
grille are now body color instead of graphite gray.
