In case anyone has been left tossing and turning and losing sleep over
thys mystery - I have solved it. On the two relays that I have here -
(and this is confirmed by testing them) the terminals are as follows...
30= Load
85= Ground
86= Switch
87= 12v Source
Everyone can sleep well now!
