Vent Session

Well, It's been a long week for me. I hate to say it, but I am really
looking forward to Monday.

It all began on Monday when I was vacuuming out the dak, when I noticed the
whole passenger side of the floor sopping wet. I turned on the AC and sure
enough the AC core was leaking. Mama didn't raise a fool, so I made an
appointment with the dealer. AC is one area I refuse to tinker with.

When I got to the dealer, I showed the guy what was going on, and he said it
was probably the drain tube, and would take about an hour to fix. So I'm in
the waiting room watching CNBC, pissing everyone else there off because
Oprah was on, And I stashed the remote for the TV under a stack of
magazines, When the service manager comes up to me, and asks to talk with
me. He explains that it was not the drain tube, but something inside the
dash, and since they had worked on the same problem last Nov. It would be
free of charge to fit, but would take a day or two to do. I asked about a
loaner car, and they said "no problem".

O.K. HERES WHERE IT GETS GOOD!

I proceeded to the rental car office, where they do the loaner cars also.
As I'm filling out the forms, I mention that I needed my spinner ball off my
steering wheel put on (it goes on with 2 clamps, NOT A MAJOR ITEM.) All of
a sudden the jagoff starts stuttering and replies "I don't know if we can
do that." He then goes back to the service area, looks at my steering
wheel and says "I don't think we can do it, we don't want to damage the
steering wheel." At this point I'm just so upset, I just said "ok then ,
can you give me a ride home?" The guy goes sure.

On the way home, the only thought going through my head was "yank the wheel,
YANK THE F**KING WHEEL!!". But I resist my temptations, and nicely ask the
guy to stop at the grocery store since I would be stranded for a few days,
and I needed a few things. He said sure. I came out 45 minutes later with
just a loaf of bread, case of pop, and a carton of smokes. SERVES EM
RIGHT!!!!!

About an hour after I get home I get a phone call from my mother of all
people! Evidently the guy in the service dept think I'm a brainless idiot,
and wanted to make sure SHE was ok with what they were doing. She said ok,
but then when they told her about the loaner car situation, she tore them a
new ass. They offered to give her the loaner and let me drive her car. She
told them to go to hell.

Well, I am a very easy going person, and I let the whole loaner situation
slide. There's no sense starting world war 3 over not having a vehicle for
a day or two. So I sat at home Wednesday, watching everyone loose their
shirts on CNBC. I needed it, trust me.

So today is Thursday, and I get a call from the dealer. They said that the
AC was fixed, but they checked the vehicle for some recalls, and found my
rear brake line was about to break. They said they would fix it free of
charge, but they didn't know if they could get the parts and have it done by
the weekend. I just said ok and ended the call.... that's how pissed off I
was.

Hopefully they can get the truck fixed tomorrow. If not I will be one angry
bastard. I will not sit at home all weekend. I have more important things
to do, like buy porn for the next time I'm stranded at home. As far as the
dealer goes, I think my mom is pissed off enough to ask one of her lawyer
friends to look into this situation. If so, I will be feeling very sorry
for those poor bastards!

I'm hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst. I'll have to see if my
old schwinn can take another weekend.
