Welcome. I stayed in Norman in fall of 93 and spring of 94
while working on a contract. Bought my 70 challenger from
owner in OKC near the air base. Really enjoyed staying in
Norman. Must be big now though.

Probably switch but check for a vacuum leak or faulty/
corroded electrical connection at the speed control servo.
On my 97, it's located at the passenger-side firewall. It
has a servo cable running to it from the throttle body.

I've read that you might get the trouble codes if you
do the key on-off sequence 10 times, as opposed to
3 times on the 96 and older models. You can try this
and see if it works.

There's also a connection with this system with the brake
light switch. Try driving within the cruise control mph range
(on an empty hiway/road, of course :-$ ), put your
foot under the brake pedal and lift up on the pedal and hold,
and try to set the speed control.

If it's the speed control servo itself, it can't be repaired
and must be replaced but there are long diagnostic procedures
to go through before you can determine that.

HTH.
