Why are you using 93 octane gas? Are you having serious detonation
problems? If not, I would suggest going back to 87. If pinging occurs you
may want to jump to 89, though with 3923 plugs and a 180 t-stat you should
be fine with 87. You know, the higher the octane, the more difficult it is
to ignite. You're not running a performance chip that would advance the
timing thereby possibly causing detonation.

i replaced the plugs less than 6,000 miles ago, and the filter is a K&N
that's perfectly clean. i might try running the injector cleaner, but that
stuff has never worked for me. oh... and i fill up with Citgo 93 Octane.

Check the condition of your air filter. If it's dirtly and
plugged up, this will cause a drop in gas mileage.

Then, take a look at your spark plugs and see if they show
that you're running rich. If so and your truck has 60,000
or more miles on it, test your O2 sensor. HTH.
