It all depends on what you want. Heck, I never thought of using the
valve cover hold downs...pretty good idea for an inexpensive mod.
However, the steel plate still has different expansion rates than the
billet aluminum (which is much closer to the expansion rate of the
manifold). Thus...the steel plate will still eventually leak over time
where the billet aluminum plate won't as quick.
