(Snip) The one that I'm zeroing in on is the adjustable Rancho
RS9000's (rear only for Gen IIIs). It has 5 settings for
stiffness so it's idea for a street/strip app. There is also
an optional adjuster box that is mounted in the cab but
it is expensive (as is just the shock).

I have the Rancho RS9000 in the rear with the in-cab adjuster. Yes on max
setting it is VERY stiff. I ride with them set about 2 or 3. I'm happy with
them and do recommend them. At one point I did see the in-cab control box on
e-bay, keep a eye on that.
