Sounds like the fan clutch to me. If you get going sooner instead of
letting it sit there the noise will quit sooner. The sensor that senses the
ambient temperature will realize more quickly if you're moving and the
engine compartment is getting air flow.

My 4.7 liter intermittently takes about 1-2 minutes to "warm" up. Meanwhile
the engine (not tranny) sounds like a 1956 pickup. It simply "sounds" very
rough and very noisily groans. Anyone know why this is? If you know, a
