You forget the 426 wedge engine. The hemi didn't come out until 65, IIRC.
The 426 wedge is the RB block, along with the 440. I don't think the hemi
shared any parts with the other engines. And, if I'm not mistaken, the 413
is also a RB block.
I think the families are 361, 383, 400, and 413, 426 wedge, 440.
BTW, the 360 block is different than the 273-340, as the block is cast
differently to clear the longer crank throws.
I do agree about the 3-speed in the Newport. I'm curious now, guess I'll
have some fun doing an Internet search!
