The cleaning is what's necessary. Thos contaminants eat away at the
bearings and metal. (BTW: The oil isn't just filtered...it's refined.)

Even those Amsoil saleguys think that you can run your oil for 25,000
miles. LOL

It still will lubricate, it just won't clean. The detergents get used
up. The base oil does not break down. That is why oil can be recycled.
It's just filtered and new additives put in. Anti-freeze is the same
