I checked out the dash on my '97 and there are small differences where
the buttons go on the left side (factory plugs are used on my dash).
Right side fits fine.

I do know the 2001 is different than the 2000, but can't say for sure if
the 1998 and the 2000 are the same.
Are you asking for a specific reason? (head unit opening, gauges, etc)
