In my never ending quest to solve Ed's (as well as my) pinging problem, I
stumbled across this:
The 4.7 flows 22.5 lb/hr @ 49psi, while the 4.7 HO flows 25.8 lb/hr @ 49psi.
Is this difference in the injectors, or is it all in the PCM? I'm thinking
my pinging is because the truck is leaning out when you snap the throttle or
on acceleration.
Also, the 4.7 valve springs are as follows:
6.69 coils
3.28 wire diameter
While the 4.7 HO valve springs are as follows:
7.30 coils
4.77 wire diameter
Is this something to warrant changing as well (I know it won't affect
pinging/etc, but just for longevity sakes)
And last but not least, the 4.7 HO spark plugs. They have a platinum rivet
located on the tip of the center electrode. Why would Dodge run these
platinum plugs in the HO?
Thanks
william
