: Ahhhh, this is a question that I never asked but REALLY want to know the answer to. Is the requisite wiring there? What about the sensors? If I were to go to my local shyster-I-mean-Dealer would I be able to purchase a kit with all of the requisite parts? Can I just go junk-yarding and pick the stuff up? I wanna know (too)! TIA
Yep, I am interested also. I plan to put one in my Cuda eventually.
I can understand how it might be more of a hassle than its worth for
the types that have the fuel economy, etc. in them, but all I'm
interested in is the ones that have temp and compass. I've never looked
into it in any detail, but I imagine that you just need to mount a
temp sensor, and run a wire to the console for power, and possibly
ground. ?
As far as going to the dealer, yes, I do remember other DMLers
checking into this, and you can buy the parts you need. Unfortunately
you'll spend about a thousand dollars. So the junkyard route is
preferred.
