Well,

first off, you dont have to remove the distributer. You should line up then
timing marks on the old chain and sprockets, then remove your distributer cap
and mark the position of the rotor. With the timing marks aligned you should
be atTDC on the #1 cylinder. Anyway, unbolt the thrust plate making sure to
notice how the little oil tab is attached so ou reattach it properly (it
would suck not to have any oil going to the chain). put the cambolt back in
for gripping purposes, then slowly and carefully pull the cam out. You'll
have to kinda wiggle it a little but be careful because the bearings are
fairly soft and can be easily damaged. lube the new cam with some oil (you
dont need to use assembly lube because its a roller cam). installation is the
reverse of removal. once the cam is in make sure the valve timing marks align
and that the distributer is right where you marked it (there may be a very
slight variation in the distributer due to chain stretch). Also, when you put
the balancer back on make sure it is going on straight or your crank pulley
will wobble and untrack or accesively wear you serp belt.

This procedure is a definite for the 5.2 hopefully someone on the list can
verify that it is proper for the V-6, but I'm sure it is.
