Michael, that plug looks (to me) as if it has been experiencing
detonation. Are you having any pinging? That plug also looks shot.
Maybe change the plugs and try a tank of premium gas, otherwise, maybe
your code is telling you that an injector may be failing.

Subject: DML: Read this spark plug?

Ok, Thursday morning on the way to work I got a check
engine light and it started cutting out like a
cylinder was missing. Felt like a plug wire fell off
to me. Got parked and I killed it then started back
up and all was fine. Didn't think too much about it,
on the way home same thing only it got a little worse.
Pulled the codes and got a 27 which is listed as
"injector output driver not responding to control
signal" or something like that. So I started
checking the ignition, wires, cap'n rotor, then I
started pulling plugs. They all looked ok until I
came to #7. It looked like this:

Can some of you guys take a look at it and give me
your thoughts? I threw an extra plug in it last
night and it ran fine today, but what the heck is
causing that? It looks to me like its getting too
hot or something. BTW the plug only has 9000 miles on it.
